Women In ConstructionAsk anyone what their image of a construction worker is, and chances are they'll say something about a man. But the truth is that construction and other heavy equipment industries are no longer the old boys' clubs that they used to be. More and more these days, women are rising to places of real prominence and accomplishment in the industry, due to hard work, smarts, and ability.
One thing that can help any construction worker--man or woman--get a good job is education. Here at the heavy Equipment Operating School, we provide our students with plenty of classroom and hands-on experience with a variety of different machines, including dozers, levelers, and many others. The result is a smarter, more capable, and able worker, who is usually looked at much more seriously by potential employers.
Our classes come in two flavors: basic or advanced. In the basic course, which runs three weeks, students will cover topics that include things like Industry Terminology, Units of Measurement, and Operating Theory. In the six week advanced course, these topics will be added to with more classwork and more time handling actual machines.
Once you've graduated, you'll find that the job search process is much easier with the help of our Job Placement Office.
