Women
in Construction
Many
women seeking employment in the trades overlook heavy equipment
operation as an occupation. We always wonder why.
The
Heavy Equipment Operators School has been fortunate in having
several women attend our courses. The ladies have proven
to be excellent students, adapting to the touch control
operation of a piece of heavy equipment almost naturally.
They have ranged in age (As have the men) from recent high
school graduates to those in their fifties.
We
are also very proud of our affiliation with Local 7 in Eugene
of the National Association of Women in Construction. This
organization is head quartered in Fort Worth, Texas and its
stated goal is to increase the number of women in the construction
trades.
Ladies,
when you think about what you want to do with the rest of your
working life, think about heavy equipment operation. And, think
about the Heavy Equipment Operators School in Eugene, Oregon.
This is an exciting and rewarding trade that can be mastered
with a good attitude and a willingness to learn! And, we can
help!
